SALT LAKE CITY, UT – Learning a new skill can be daunting. Studies show that adults and children learn better when they’re having fun!

Nick Pelling coined the term ‘gamification’ in 2002. This means adding game elements to a process to increase engagement and enjoyment. Applying game mechanics engages viewers and motivates them to reach their goals. It also makes their goals more structured, solid, and achievable. Gamifying makes learning easier and more fun!

Gamification aids education in a few ways. Adding elements like points systems and leveling up encourages learners to reach achievements. Social interaction within the game provokes friendly competition. Leaderboards help track achievements and provide recognition for hard work. Rewards, like badges, encourage players to complete objectives. These don’t only drive engagement and entertainment; they are also proven to increase knowledge retention.

Curious Mondo is using these ideas to create a brand new, interactive look! We know that learners learn best when they’re having fun, so we’re adding cool new game components to our art classes. Viewers will be able to interact with the class, earn badges, and level up. We’re also introducing player control. Students can sit in the virtual ‘Director’s Chair’ and choose 4 different camera angles to watch during the show. Curious Mondo is the first and only virtual art class in the United States to incorporate gamification.

At Curious Mondo, we are always looking for innovative ways to share art with adults around the world. We stream live art classes for FREE, featuring professional guest instructors. Soothing Stress Through Art

News Release – July 30th, 2021

hello@curiousmondo.com

Salt Lake City, UT – The process of creation is an important tool for stress relief. Creating art allows us to express emotions that are too powerful for words. It helps us work through issues and feel better about ourselves.

Psychiatric circles have long used Art Therapy to help people express themselves. Creating an image about an issue allows the person to distance themselves and gain clarity. Creativity causes a relaxed state, which can allow a person to access buried memories.  Art is a safe way to explore difficult emotions within boundaries and structure.

Crafting art can boost self image as well. Making something unique provides a sense of accomplishment and control. It empowers the creative, giving them individual choice and freedom. Making a piece of art is a problem solving process, which teaches better coping skills in life. Putting an emotion into a physical form can also offer catharsis.

The world we live in now has made it difficult to connect with artists physically. With many feeling isolated and alone, artistry is even more essential to us. Art provides an escape to a freer space. Making art connects us to other times, places, and cultures. It has the power to provide a link between people across the globe, who would never have met otherwise. The internet has proven to be an essential vehicle for sharing art.

Curious Mondo’s goal is to empower creatives around the world to make more art. The company’s founder, Shahar Boyayan, commented, “I love making art. It gives my brain time to buffer, forget about the problems of the day, and focus on creating something beautiful.” This is the spirit that Curious Mondo hopes to share with the world. Placing the Cheeks on a Look Alike Puppet With Barry Gordemer

“So what’s going to happen here is this foam piece is going to go in inside the puppet there, and then the fingers will go underneath there. And so that’ll do it. And then this piece of foam core is going to go on the top because just my fingers in there, it’s going to cause that foam to push up and the foam core will give it just a little bit of rigidness sort of grips. But remember now I shortened the edges. We shorten those inside edges, to make this face a little more narrow. So I think I just want to shave a little off that inside back edge. So we keep those proportions nice and tight. Take taken off about a quarter. Won’t seem like much, but a quarter of an inch, five millimeters, add them together and it adds up to a half, an inch, 10 millimeters. Then you are talking about a significant noticeable change in the, in the features of the face.”
