Join me in this exciting three-day class and learn the basics of silversmithing and metalsmithing. We will work with silver during class but I will also add information on how to work with brass and copper, as well. I will introduce you to tools commonly used to create jewelry projects. I will talk about how to create a successful design that can be created in metal. I will teach you how to use a jeweler’s saw, identify different solder joints and how to create each one. I will show you how to safely use a butane torch and to create and maintain a pickle pot. I will demonstrate how to make a bezel for stones and how to finish your piece using sandpaper, flexshaft bits and polishers and so much more. I will also talk about different options in tools that allow you to jump into this craft without investing a fortune.
