Introduction to Sewing Machines and Sewing Basics
This is a 2-day Free event – Monday and Tuesday – each day from 9am to 12pm MDT
In this course, Carolyn Chen will give viewers an introduction to home Sewing Machines. Learn about essential machine parts and their functions. This is a foundation for successful sewing and a primer on what to look for if you plan to acquire a sewing machine by buying it new or used or best of all, receive it as a gift.
This is a beginning level course for people who want to learn to use a sewing machine and build confidence to start an easy sewing project. Part 1 will be an introduction to the Sewing Machine, variations of different models, and important tools. In Part 2, we will learn to operate the machine and cover Basic Sewing skills.
About The Instructor: Carolyn Chen
Carolyn Chen learned to sew as a 4-H member in Long Island, New York. She loves the versatility of sewing for creating unique garments and items as well as repairing things and is happy to share that skill with others. Carolyn is an engineer by day, which means she takes a very disciplined and organized approach to working with machines and instructional training. She has taught beginning sewing to children and adults.
